Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary will be holding its 23rd Annual 5K Run for the Animals and 1-Mile Fun Walk on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. at Wheaton Regional Park, starting near the miniature train station.
All funds raised will go towards the care of the rescued animals that live at Poplar Spring, as well as educate the public about compassion towards all animals.
Prizes will be given to the top finishers overall, for teams, and by age categories. Lisa Berigan, radio host at iHeart Radio stations, will serve as emcee, Artman Disc Jockeys will provide music, and we will have a pre-race warm-up! We will also be collecting used sneakers at the race for recycling or reuse.
Dogs are welcome at the event for the walk. We hope to see you there! Register now before prices go up on race day.
