Braver Angels to Host Free Red/Blue Workshop in Brookeville on June 13 to Help Reduce Political Polarization
BROOKEVILLE, Md. — At a time when political divisions are straining friendships, families, and communities, Braver Angels, the nation’s largest grassroots organization dedicated to political depolarization, is inviting local residents to participate in a free Red/Blue Workshop on Saturday, June 13, 2026.
The workshop is designed for people who are concerned about the increasing rancor in American politics and want to engage in respectful, constructive dialogue across political differences.
Developed by one of Braver Angels’ founders, a family therapist, the organization’s flagship Red/Blue Workshop format has been successfully conducted across the country to help participants “lower the temperature” surrounding political disagreements and build greater understanding between people with differing viewpoints.
The workshop brings together equal numbers of conservative-leaning (“Red”) and liberal-leaning (“Blue”) participants for a day of guided conversation and structured activities. The goal of the program is to help participants:
• Better understand people with differing political perspectives
• Reduce stereotypes and misconceptions
• Clarify areas of disagreement respectfully
• Discover shared values and common ground
Rigorous research has proven these workshops reduce political hostility and strengthen community relationships.
The event will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Salem United Methodist Church in Brookeville, Maryland. A lunch break will be included.
The workshop is free to attend for adults ages 19 and older. Participants may register using the promo code “Braver.”
