Over the weekend, Larry Hogan directed Maryland’s Secretary of State to terminate Maryland’s sister state relationship with the Leningrad Region of Russia, which was established in 1993.
The governor has also directed state agencies to review any and all contracts, procurements, and holdings that may have ties to Russian entities, according to Hogan’s Government website.

ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan today announced that the State of Maryland’s COVID-19 hospitalizations have dropped below 400—another major milestone for the state’s declining health metrics.
The Maryland House of Delegates passed a bill today that would allow voters to decide whether or not to legalize cannabis in Maryland. House Bill 1 states that, “on or after July 1, 2023, an individual in the State who is at least 21 years old may use and possess cannabis.”
If the bill passes through the Maryland State Senate, voters will see the question on the ballot this November.

The virtual Youth Listening Session, co-hosted by Councilmember Hucker and Student Member of the Board of Education Hana O’Looney, will include students’ perspectives, questions and ideas, and mental health resources.

Montgomery County Police and the Gaithersburg Police Department are investigating an aggravated assault that occurred at 10:52am Monday morning outside of the food court at Lakeforest Mall (701 Russell Ave) in Gaithersburg.
An adult male has been transported to an area hospital following the assault, according to the Gaithersburg Police Department.
