The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will be installing permanent, “dynamic speed signs” (DSS) on Brink Road in Gaithersburg to provide real-time speeds to drivers. The campaign is a pilot program under the Montgomery County Vision Zero initiative to eliminate severe injuries and fatalities from traffic-related incidents by 2030. Two signs will face eastbound traffic and two will face westbound.


Germantown

Southbound Lanes on Great Seneca Highway Closed Due to Downed Power Lines

Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire & Rescue Pete Piringer is reporting that a dump truck ‘truck bed’ went up and brought down wires and traffic signals at Great Seneca Hwy and Richter Farm Rd.


Rockville

As part of the City of Rockville’s Baltimore Road project, crews will close Baltimore Road for several months beginning on or about Wednesday, June 23, 2021. The roadway is expected to remain closed through mid-October.

The closure will be implemented between Gladstone Drive and Broadwood Drive. Crews have installed pedestrian and vehicle detour signage to safely guide motorists, pedestrians, and cyclists following the detour route.


Gaithersburg

Local Police Agencies Address Excessive Exhaust Noise on 355

On the evening on June 8, Maryland State Police, Montgomery County Police, Gaithersburg Police, and Rockville Police formed a joint initiative to combat loud exhaust & excessive speed violations on 355 from Professional Drive to Edmonston Drive.
