Two Good Counsel Teammates To Play in the Super Bowl

On Sunday Good Counsel graduates Dorian O’Daniel and Kendall Fuller will be playing in the Super Bowl.

In the screen capture you’ll see them FaceTiming with a Chiefs reporter after the Chiefs selected O’Daniel with the 100th overall selection of the 2018 NFL Draft.

The 6’1, 220 pound O’Daniel was a linebacker at Clemson, where he played four seasons after redshirting in 2013.

He attended high school and played football at Good Counsel in Olney, where he was a running back and linebacker. As a senior he was named the Montgomery Sentinal’s Offensive Player of the Year and the Gazette’s Montgomery County Player of the Year. That year he also made the Washington Post’s All-Met First Team.

O’Daniel graduated from Clemson with a degree in parks, recreation, and tourism management.

Kendall Fuller was a cornerback at Virginia Tech. He was selected in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins. As a senior at Good Counsel, he was the U.S. Army All-American Defensive Player of the Year and the Maryland Gatorade Football Player of the Year after he totaled 44 receptions for 695 yards and seven touchdownson offense, and three interceptions, eight pass breakups and 28 tackles (including a sack) on defense.

In January of 2018 the Redskins traded Fuller and a 3rd round pick to the Chiefs for quarterback Alex Smith.

We wish Dorian O’Daniel and Kendall Fuller the best of luck as they go against former Seneca Valley quarterback Brian Fleury’s San Francisco 49ers, where Fleury is a defensive quality control coach.
