Sneak Peek at The Eleanor in Downtown Silver Spring (Opens 2/24/20)

Yesterday we were able to stop by Downtown Silver Spring’s newest spot, The Eleanor, for a sneak peek of what’s to come when it opens this Monday, 2/24/20.

The Eleanor is described as “the neighborhood arcade & bowling lounge that serves honest, handmade food and local beers, craft cocktails, and great wines.“

While it’s similar to nearby Dave & Busters in the fact that both have games, the vibe is very different and you’ll be able to notice that as soon as you walk in.

There are plenty of games, but you won’t be overwhelmed. In addition to duck pin bowling (five lanes total), you’ll see huge versions of classics like Pac-Man and Galaga, a traditional basketball shootout, tabletop hockey that reminded me of the one that I played at Putt-Putt on Rockville Pike in the 80s and 90s, skeeball, and more.

The arcade games will rotate out every few months so that you’re not stuck playing the same game every time you’re there. Currently, you’ll have the opportunity to play Mortal Kombat and Ninja Turtles.

Pictured below you’ll see the food and drink menu, where you’ll likely find something for everyone.

All in all, we had a great time and look forward to stopping in once the place is officially up and running. A great addition for Downtown Silver Spring.
