MoCo Health Officer Sends Private Schools a Letter Encouraging Them to Strongly Consider Return to Virtual Learning

Montgomery County Health Officer Travis Gayles sent a letter to private school leadership teams encouraging them to reassess in-person instruction and strongly consider a return to virtual instruction until the average case rate in the county is below 15 per 100,000 people.

The case rate in MoCo is currently at 22.6 cases per 100,000 residents and the 7-day positivity rate has increased to 5.4% in the last two weeks, according to the letter.
