State Named Roads in Montgomery County

In Washington, D.C. there is a road named for all 50 States in the Union. Due to Montgomery County being on the border of DC, some of these roads extend into MoCo.

Here is a list of some of the state named roads that pass through Montgomery County and/or border Montgomery County.

Wisconsin Avenue
-In MoCo it starts as Wisconsin, changes to “Rockville Pike” at Walter Reed Hospital, followed by “Hungerford Drive” and then becomes “Frederick Road” in Gaithersburg. It goes through Friendship Heights, Bethesda, Pike & Rose, Rockville, Gaithersburg, and Clarksburg.

Connecticut Avenue
-Starts in MoCo at Chevy Chase Circle, and goes through Chevy Chase, Kensington, and Aspen Hill.

Georgia Avenue
-Starts in MoCo in Downtown Silver Spring, and goes through Forest Glen, Wheaton, Aspen Hill, Olney, and Brookeville.

Massachusetts Avenue
-Starts in MoCo at Westmoreland Circle and ends in Glen Echo.

New Hampshire Avenue
-Starts in MoCo in White Oak, and goes through Colesville, Cloverly, and Sandy Spring.

Nevada Avenue
-Starts in MoCo along Western Avenue near Chevy Chase Circle, and only runs two blocks into Chevy Chase Village.

-Borders MoCo in Chevy Chase, on the west side of Rock Creek Park.

Utah Avenue
-Borders MoCo in Chevy Chase Village.

Alaska Avenue
-Borders MoCo in Silver Spring.
