Giving Back: Food, Clothing and Toy Drives in the Wheaton Area
Food and Clothing Drive:
The Greenwood Project, an organization that focuses on improving conditions in minority communities, is holding a clothes and food drive on December 5th from 12-5 at The Wheaton Volunteer Rescue Squad (2400 Arcola Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20902). All donations are going to low income families, the homeless, and local organizations that serve them.
Toy Drive:
For more than two decades, Angels for Children has provided toys and gifts to make the holidays a special time for families living in the Wheaton area. More than ever, these families need all the help and we will support them by providing toys and gift cards that then will be distributed safely during the week before Christmas. We have modified our longtime tradition to build in some socially-distant safety precautions, while still helping those in need in our community. We are a small and local drive. We want people to know about this great drive so they can get involve and spread some joy!
