Police Report Being Shot at in Gaithersburg

Update: The shelter in place has been lifted. Police continue to investigate the incident.

Montgomery County Police posted the following message this afternoon on their social media accounts:

At approximately 3:00 pm, officers from the Gaithersburg Police Department (GPD) were dispatched to 392 North Summit Avenue for a parking hazard complaint. As Gaithersburg Police Department officers responded to the call, they reported being shot at from a higher elevation. Additional officers, to include MCP officers, responded to the area. MCP & GPD are actively searching for the suspect(s).

No reported injuries. Avoid the area.
