County Executive Marc Elrich Unveils a New Reimagining Public Safety Dashboard

Per Montgomery County:

For Immediate Release: Wednesday, July 7, 2021

Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich launches a new dashboard that allows residents to view the progress of the Reimagining Public Safety Initiative. The dashboard advances the Executive’s commitment for transparency and accountability.

“Reimagining Public Safety is not a buzz phrase and residents deserve to know how the County is moving forward with actionable steps to make their communities safer for all,” Elrich said. “The dashboard shows the implementation process of many reform actions, and we look forward to continue sharing our progress with the County as they are happening.”

Initial work for this dashboard was led by a team from Carnegie Mellon’s Policy Innovation Lab, in partnership with Montgomery County’s Innovation Team, and it is now being maintained by CountyStat. The Reimagining Public Safety Dashboard is tracking about 280 actionable items that are detailed in:

1) The Reimagining Public Safety Task Force Recommendations;

2) The Maryland State Police Accountability Act of 2021; and

3) The Montgomery County Police Department Audit Recommendations.

The Reimagining Public Safety Dashboard is available now for viewing. The public can view, sort, and download data. Residents may also submit comments and feedback to the County through the dashboard.
