Montgomery County Police Investigating Robbery at a Rockville Pharmacy

Update: Yesterday we reported a robbery that occurred at a Rockville pharmacy was under investigation. We did not mention the pharmacy by name, which led some to believe that it was Rockville Pharmacy at 50 W. Edmonton Dr. in Rockville. The robbery occurred at the CVS at 799 Rockville Pike.

Gaithersburg, MD – Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Department – Major Crimes Division are investigating the September 1 robbery of a pharmacy in Rockville. Investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

On Wednesday, September 1, at approximately 9:50 a.m., officers responded to a pharmacy in the 700 block of Rockville Pike for the report of a robbery that just occurred.

The investigation by detectives determined that the suspect jumped the counter of the pharmacy. He then forcefully escorted the employee to a different location within the pharmacy and demanded pharmaceuticals. The suspect then began filling a white trash bag with different medications and pharmaceuticals before fleeing the scene.

The suspect is described as a black male, thin build, approximately 5-feet-6-inches tall, wearing an orange mask, a red hooded sweatshirt with white lettering, tan pants and black boots.

Anyone with information regarding this suspect or this crime is asked to call the Major Crimes Division at 240-773-5070.
