Sibylle Zitko, a Bethesda resident who was missing since January 8th, was found dead on March 8th by the United States Park Police.
“On March 8, Park Police arrived in the area of Lock #5 near Brookmont for a report of a “possible deceased female.” Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service crews were also dispatched to the scene and recovered the body. The Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed the victim as Zitko, and her relatives have been notified, Park Police said in a statement.” per WTOP.
Park Police previously asked for the public’s assistance in locating 54-year-old Sibylle Zitko of Bethesda, who was missing from the area of the C&O Canal at Lock 7 in Cabin John since January 6.
Police has stated that it does not appear there was any foul play involving Zitko’s death.
