On Wednesday, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue responded to a well engulfed vehicle on Route 28 in Rockville around 2:45pm.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MFCRS’ Pete Piringer, there were no occupants inside of the vehicle at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
MCPD checked the registration of the vehicle and determined that the car had been reported stolen from Prince George’s County. Police K9 unit attempted to track evidence through the nearby woods but had negative results.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
W. Montgomery Avenue between W. Gude Drive and Shady Grove Road was blocked for several hours due to the incident.
