CCI Health Services announced today that the organization will host an unveiling event for its new administrative headquarters located at 8665 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring on Tuesday, May 24, at 5:30 PM.
The event is in collaboration with the Greater Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce and co-sponsored by NIH Federal Credit Union and will include a guided tour of the facility. CCI elected to purchase the building and move its headquarters to make room for a significant expansion of the organization’s flagship Silver Spring health center on Fenton Street. Currently, the administrative offices and health center share the space. “The need for health care in this area has increased since COVID arrived. We realized that the Silver Spring teams needed the entire space to deliver the care we strive to offer our patients,” said Dr. Sonya Bruton, CCI’s President & CEO.
The building on Georgia Avenue originally opened in November 1949 and served as the then-new location for the Silver Spring bank. It was the first bank in Montgomery County to offer a drive-thru window. The building was also the former headquarters for Chambers Funeral Home, the Silver Spring District Court, and most recently, the headquarters for Gallagher & Associates. CCI closed on the purchase of the building and began remodeling it last September.
CCI Health Services was founded in 1972. CCI Health Services is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides quality and affordable health care to patients in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties. In addition, CCI Health Services empowers underserved populations and advocates for a more equitable health care system.
