Montgomery Parks to Host English and Spanish Virtual Community Meeting on Proposed Playground Renovations at Fox Chapel Neighborhood Park

Montgomery Parks is hosting a virtual community meeting in English and Spanish to discuss proposed playground replacement recommendations and potential park improvements at Fox Chapel Neighborhood Park. The English and Spanish Virtual Community Meeting: Proposed Playground Renovations at Fox Chapel Neighborhood Park, will take place on Zoom on June 23, 2022, from 7- 8:30 p.m.

Watch and submit questions by joining the online Zoom meeting at MoCoParks.org/FCNPTownHall or listen only via phone by calling: + 301-715-8592Webinar ID: 848 3200 5263

People can also get involved and share their opinions by taking the Open Town Hall online survey available after the community meeting.

The existing playground was installed in 1999. It will be removed, and a new playground will be installed in a new location. Local park playgrounds are typically 3,500 to 5,000 square feet in size and include playground equipment to meet the needs of children from ages 2-12, and seating for caregivers. Typical types of equipment include swings, play structures and smaller freestanding pieces.

In addition to playground improvements, the community engagement and concept design processes will explore the potential for other improvements, such as to the hard surface court, picnic shelter, parking lot, ADA accessibility and stormwater management.
