Gaithersburg: Notice of Street Construction – Rt.355 & Walker Ave.

Per the City of Gaithersburg:
Safety improvements to start July 17 on MD Rt. 355 (between Brookes Ave. & Chestnut St.) & Walker Ave.
Beginning, Sunday, July 17, 2022, at approximately 8 p.m., Alpha Space Control, working for the City of Gaithersburg, will perform safety improvements to striping, signage & channelizing curb with delineators. The work will take place between Brookes Avenue & Chestnut Street on Maryland Route 355 (North Frederick Avenue) & Walker Avenue in Gaithersburg.

The following are the hours planned for the work:

  • Sunday, July 17, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Monday, July 18, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Tuesday, July 19, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Weather & progress permitting, all work is expected to be completed no later than Friday July 22, at 3 p.m.

In case of inclement weather, the work will continue on Wednesday July 20, ending Friday, July 22, 2022. Work during this time period will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

To complete this work, crews are permitted to close the inner lanes northbound & southbound and the turn lane northbound at Chestnut Street on MD 355 (North Frederick Avenue) within the project limits during the construction time period.
