Several people were rescued from a trench on Thursday afternoon on the 9600 block of Veirs Dr, near Oakwood Drive in Rockville. According to Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue, “Several people were in trench, they’ve been removed except for 1 person who was partially buried up to the waist, small trench trench is 6 feet deep, 3 feet wide and about 10 feet long.” Update: The last remaining person in the trench has been removed.
The incident began shortly before 2pm. Medivac was called to the scene to transport the individual who was stuck in the trench for an extended period. The person was described as an adult male “worker”. Footage or the incident below:
