Doc Waters Cidery Purchased by Butler Family (of Butler’s Orchard)

Hallie, Tyler, and Ben Butler (of Butler’s Orchard) have announced that they’ve purchased neighboring Doc Waters Cidery from their aunt Susan Butler and her husband Washington White. Per the announcement, made earlier this week via social media, the Butlers are “committed to continuing and expanding the dream that Susan and Wash had for the Cidery and Orchard.”

The Cidery, which has been open around the corner from Butler’s Orchard in Germantown since 2018, features food trucks, live music, cider made on site, and more. The full statement can be seen below:

“🍏 We have an exciting announcement! 🍎

At the end of last year, Doc Waters Cidery and Waters Orchard were purchased by Hallie, Tyler, and Ben Butler, from their aunt, Susan Butler, and her husband, Washington White.

Doc Waters Cidery was opened in 2018 by Wash and Susan, as they expanded on their Pick Your Own apple orchard, Waters Orchard. Sadly, Susan passed away in early 2022. The Butlers are committed to continuing and expanding the dream that she and Wash had for the Cidery & Orchard. There have been many exciting changes this year, including live music performances, a new website, new serving buildings, and a new head cidermaker, and there is so much more to come!

If you don’t know Doc Waters Cidery, it is a local hidden gem just around the corner from Butler’s Orchard. Open Fridays-Sundays, it features food trucks, events like live music & trivia, and award-winning hard cider made entirely onsite. During the Fall, The Orchard at Doc Waters Cidery opens its gates for the Pick Your Own Apple season with a wide variety of apples on Saturdays & Sundays throughout September & October.

Butler’s Orchard and Doc Waters Cidery will continue to operate separately but will cross paths in many ways. Doc Waters Cidery will continue to be at many of Butler’s Orchard’s events, like the Sunflower Spectacular, Sunset Picking & Pumpkin Festival, and Butler’s Orchard encourages you to visit The Orchard at Doc Waters Cidery for apple picking!

We are very excited for everything that’s to come for both Doc Waters Cidery and Butler’s Orchard, and we hope to see you soon!”
