UPDATED: Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services responded to a fire at the North Creek Place Apartments on Baltimore Road in Rockville on Tuesday afternoon. According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, first arriving firefighters encountered fire conditions in the rear of the building on the second floor, which extended to third floor.
In a 5:09pm update, Piringer stated that the fire originated in an HVAC closet between two of the apartments. Piringer noted that one air conditioning condenser displayed a high degree of fire damage, likely indicating a system failure. There was approximately $800K in damages. 16 adults, 6 kids, and some pets were displaced, but there were not any human injuries.
