European Wax Center to Open Germantown Location in February

European Wax Center will be opening its newest MoCo location in the Neelsville Village Shopping Center in Germantown. It will be taking over the space previously occupied by My Eye Dr. at 20940 Frederick Rd D. This will be the seventh MoCo location, adding to six other locations in Bethesda, Gaithersburg, Olney, Rockville, and Silver Spring. European Wax Center opened its most recent location in the Fallsgrove Village Center at 14933 Shady Grove Road in Rockville in November of 2021. According to Google, the location is scheduled to open on February 13th. Potential customers can join a grand opening list to be alerted about complimentary services during the store’s “preview week.”
European Wax Center is a major chain of hair removal salons that offers waxing services as well as products in the skincare, body, and brow categories. The salons are typically 1,200 to 1,400 SF and employ 10 to 15 people. Founded in Aventura, Florida in 2004 and based in Plano, TX, European Wax Center is run through franchising. The chain has 878 locations in the United States, nearly 1,000 locations in the United States. Franchises use a four-step waxing process. The first step cleanses the skin of makeup and skin oil, the second step uses a pre-wax oil that allows the wax to stick to just the hair on body and not the skin, the third step is the application of the wax to remove hair, and the fourth step is an application of a final treatment for the skin.
