Suspect Arrested in Connection With Germantown Shooting

At approximately 2:13 a.m., 5th District officers responded to the location for the report of a suspicious situation.  Upon arrival, officers were advised that after hearing a knock at their door, the victims observed two male suspects, one armed with a handgun standing outside of their residence. The male suspect, later identified as Kelly, began to shoot at the house.

Through the course of the investigation, Kelly was identified as a suspect.

Detectives obtained a search warrant for Kelly’s residence. Items of evidentiary value were located at his residence and inside the vehicle he was arrested in.

On Thursday, January 5, 2023, Kelly was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder, first degree assault and a number of other firearm related violations.

This is an active and ongoing investigation. Anyone with information regarding this suspect or this crime is asked to contact Crime Solvers of Montgomery County toll-free at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477).  A reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect. Callers can remain anonymous.
