Wootton Graduates Bring REWILD, an Indoor Plant Boutique, to Cabin John Village (Now Open)

REWILD, an indoor plant boutique, is now open at Cabin John Village (7937 Tuckerman Ln STE C). The MoCo connection is strong as two of three REWILD founders are graduates of Wootton High School in Rockville. The indoor plant boutique carries a wide selection of indoor plants, ranging from classic mainstays to rare and unusual specimens. They also stock pots and planters to outfit these plants in a variety that would suit any interior aesthetic. “One of our distinguishing features is that we repot plants for free with purchase of a plant or pot, meaning you can bring in your own empty pot and find a new plant for it, or you can bring in any plant and find a new pot for it!  We have a custom built potting bench that allows customers to watch the whole repotting process.” co-owner Lily Cox told us.
“We also offer an array of plant-related services, most exciting of which is our plant design consultation, which is a personal shopping experience outside store hours for $75, which is entirely credited toward the resulting purchase (basically making it a loaded gift certificate!).  Every plant purchase comes with a care card, so folks know exactly how to care for their plants when they bring them home. Basically, REWILD is here to make the difficult or messy parts of plant care way easier, so folks get to just enjoy their plants.  Our exceptional service and hospitality is something you’ll see mentioned in our google reviews for our other locations.  We expect to make updates to the shop over the first few weeks of its opening, so it will be an ever evolving space.  When paired with a frequent turnover of inventory, you can expect each visit to be a new experience!”
Cox told us that REWILD is also looking forward to bringing events and experiences to the space, such as workshops and pop up collaborations with other vendors.  They’ll be setting a date grand opening celebration late February, but opened to the public on Wednesday, February 1st. REWILD opened its first location in Shaw, DC in October 2018, then opened its second location in Virginia on the 2 year anniversary of the Shaw shop’s opening. The group went on to open the Gift Shop in the U.S. Botanic Garden, which they run in collaboration with the Friends of the USBG.  Last month, REWILD opened its 3rd location (second DC location) in Capitol Hill.
Cox said, “Two of our three founders are from Maryland and went to Wootton- and they have a fondness for the area.  We were very excited by the idea of opening at an Edens property, as we’re big fans of Union Market and Mosaic, and we’re thrilled to be joining an exceptional community of businesses at Cabin John Village! “
