One Dead After Early Morning Crash on I-495 Near Rockville Pike

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a collision with entrapment this morning around 5am on the inner loop of I495 after Old Georgetown Rd, in the area of Rt355. According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, a vehicle caught on fire after it went off the road and into a wooded area. There were two occupants inside the vehicle; one patient was extricated and transported with Priority 3, non-life threatening injuries, another young adult patient had Priority 1 traumatic life-threatening injuries and died on scene. We will post an update when additional information is available.
