The Lakeforest Mall auction has officially ended and winners of the auctions will be picking up their items in the coming days. The 2014 Chevy Silverado, emblazoned with the Lakeforest Mall logo and 21,242 miles of usage (and currently not running), was the item that went for the highest price– selling for $23,700. The plow used to clear snow from the Lakeforest Mall parking lot, that attaches to the pick-up truck, sold for $1,525. It’s unclear if the same person won both items.
The popular food court canoe structure (with grapes in it) ended up going for a price of $205. A scissor lift used by maintenance staff at Lakeforest went for just over $3,000, a candy machine sold for $1,375, and someone is going to have a really fun play area for their kids at home as the entire Lakeforest Mall play area (with walls included) sold for $1,425.
Three decorative birds that hung from the Lakeforest ceiling were sold for $425 (the winner of the auction is responsible for getting the birds down). Tables and chairs from the food court sold for as little as a few bucks to as high as a couple hundred for what looked to be the exact same item. A few of the decorative structures in the shape of leaves sold for a couple hundred each.
The “Phone Repair Lab” and “CellFix” kiosks sold for $1.75 and $1 each, which seems to be a steal if they can be used elsewhere. Two other whole kiosks sold for similar prices. Two different “Cafes in the Forest” food court signs went for $130 and $125. A few Dairy Queen ice cream machines sold for a couple hundred each.
The huge lot of Lakeforest Mall holiday decor ended up selling for $3,525, so there may be a very festive looking home with familiar decorations in town this holiday season. The mall directories went for between a couple bucks to as high as $40 for one of them. The large tool kit used by mall maintenance crews to make repairs sold for $850.
