Bella Ballet to Open Second Kentlands Location

Bella Ballet opened in 2013 when owner Hope MacDonald opened the flagship location, located at 347 Kentlands Blvd in Gaithersburg, at age 24 with $5,000 of her savings. Now, she is opening her second location in the neighboring shopping center at 215 Kentlands Blvd, next to Cava.

The flagship location will remain open with classes offered for students ages 2-7.  The new sister location, Empower, will open at 215 Kentlands Blvd., and will offer classes for students ages 7-18. This location will be open in September 2023. Enrollment for both locations is available now on the Bella Ballet website.

It was Miss Hope’s dream to create a dance school where children were able to learn traditional dance repertoire with a sound dance education all while learning key values to inspire confidence and spark passions. She wanted a space that empowered dancers with leadership skills, addressing bullying, building positive body image, providing empowerment, and promoting other positive values like respect, kindness, and love for all.

Per Bella Ballet: “At Bella Ballet, we are more than just a dance studio. As the original dance empowerment studio, our goal is to empower our young women as a whole through their bodies, minds, and beautiful hearts.

Our goal is to not only train our students by professional dancers and provide cutting edge and age-appropriate repertoire and techniques, but to instill the values of self- confidence, leadership, inclusion, kindness, anti-bullying, and positive body image. We want to plant the philanthropic spirit to show the power of community by our monthly community outreaches and large events to benefit our favorite local charities including “Comfort Cases”, “The Tree House Mid-Atlantic”, and “Nourish Now”.”
