Damascus Man Arrested for Vandalizing Montgomery County Police Cruisers

Per MCPD: 41-year-old Steven Michael Blank, of Damascus, has been arrested and charged with multiple counts of vandalism and resisting arrest, for allegedly vandalizing two marked Montgomery County Police cruisers in Damascus.

On Saturday, August 26, 2023, at approximately 7:32 p.m., 5th District officers responded to the 10200 block of Lewis Dr. for the report of a vandalism.

Through the course of the investigation, officers developed Blank as the suspect and determined that on Friday, August 25, 2023, at approximately 7:04 p.m., Blank drove into the parking lot where the cruisers were parked, got out of his car and broke the passenger mirror of a Dodge police cruiser. He then walked over to a Ford police cruiser and broke off the passenger mirror. As Blank was walking back to his car, he picked up one of the mirrors, threw it at the Dodge and shattered the front windshield.

Blank was arrested on August 26 and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. In 2022, Blank was arrested and charged for vandalizing multiple police cruisers and citizen cars. He was released on bond.

According to Montgomery County Police, “A 20-year-old Capitol Heights man died Tuesday, November 28, 2023, after crashing his car into a parked vehicle on Spruell Drive.
