Laperaux, the Journeyman Chef’s French Bistro, Named ‘Best Germantown Restaurant in 2023’

Laperaux, the Journeyman Chef’s French Bistro, which opened at 18056 Mateny Rd. in February, has been selected for the ‘2023 Best of Germantown Award’ in the Restaurants category by the Germantown Award Program, according to a press release submitted by the owner of Laperaux.

Each year, the Germantown Award Program identifies “companies that we believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and our community. These exceptional companies help make the Germantown area a great place to live, work and play.”

Chef and owner Gregory Webb, who has earned such accolades and awards as “Chef of the Year 1998” in Houston, Texas, “Winner all Categories” at the Texas Open Wild Game Cookoff, “Top Chefs of Mexico City” and many others, opened the French bistro at the location in February 2023. The restaurant offers high-casual cuisine created by Webb, who has competed against Bobby Flay on The Food Network, and won numerous ‘chopped style’ competitions put on for various local charity and fund raising events, including DC Central Kitchen’s Chefs Cook Off.

According to the press release, “various sources of information were gathered and analyzed to choose the winners in each category. The 2023 Germantown Award Program focuses on quality, not quantity. Winners are determined based on the information gathered both internally by the Germantown Award Program and data provided by third parties.”
