Police Investigating Armed Robbery at Wheaton Mall

Per MCPD: Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District Investigative Section are investigating an armed robbery of a person that occurred on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at the Westfield Wheaton Mall in the 11100 block of Veirs Mill Rd.  Detectives have released surveillance video of the two suspects and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying them.

At approximately 7:20 p.m., 4th District officers responded to the location for the report of an armed robbery.

The investigation has revealed that the male victim made a store purchase in the mall. When the victim exited the mall, two suspects approached him. One of the suspects assaulted him, and the other suspect displayed a handgun and stole his property. The suspects then left the scene.   Detectives reviewed the surveillance cameras of the mall and obtained a description of the suspects.

One of the suspects is described as a Hispanic male who is approximately 5-feet, 8-inches tall with short hair and a medium build. He was last seen wearing glasses, a long grey sleeve shirt, black Adidas pants and black shoes.

The other suspect is described as a Hispanic male who is 5-feet, 8-inches tall with dark hair, a mustache and a thin build. He was last seen wearing a white shirt, black pants, dark shoes and dark hair.
