Montgomery County Woman Chooses To Return Home Prematurely From ABC’s “The Golden Bachelor”

Joan– a “private school administrator” from Rockville, exited “The Golden Bachelor” prematurely after she made the decision to go home and be with her family member during a time of need. After winning the episode’s talent show with a touching poem, and a one-on-one date with Gerry (the Golden Bachelor), she became a frontrunner in the competition that involves women 60 years young and up vying for Gerry’s affection. Joan made the decision to return home and be with her daughter, who has been having a difficult time since recently giving birth.

My journey to find love took a detour this week as I traded the mansion for motherhood and headed home to be with my family. Family comes first, period. Once a mother, always a mother, I’ll always choose my kids first. Thank you for all of your outpouring love and support, for not only me but also my daughter – everyone is now healthy and happy! As for me and my journey to love… guess we will have to see where it takes me next. Until then, stay golden ✨✨ 🌹” Joan shared on social media.

E!News shared the following:

“I had a really hard time leaving home,” she shared with the 72-year-old during their date, where they also connected over the deaths of their spouses. “I have a lot of responsibilities back at home. I have a daughter who just had a baby 15 days ago—a C-section, not an easy delivery, not an easy baby. But for the first time in my life, I thought, ‘I am really going to do something for myself, because I think I’m ready and this is an opportunity that I just can’t let go.’

More on Joan, per “The Golden Bachelor”: Joan is really something special. She has four kids and two grandkids and is looking for love again after losing her husband of 32 years to pancreatic cancer. Joan is proud of herself for starting a new career in this chapter of life and for how resilient she’s been through many unexpected life changes. When she’s not working, Joan loves listening to Elton John, hanging with her dog, and cooking a delicious meal. Joan describes herself as a loving mother and a hard worker who would love to find someone with whom to enjoy life. She’s happiest when she’s at the beach with her family and is looking for a family man with whom to blend her life. Joan is a total catch, and we think Gerry will have no problem seeing it too. Fun Facts:
● Joan loves dancing after a couple glasses of wine.
● Joan enjoys historical museums.
● Joan’s favorite food is a big, juicy burger!”
