Jenny Craig’s Rockville location, which was located at 835 G Rockville Pike in Wintergreen Plaza prior to its closure, is currently auctioning off all contents. The auction, which ends on November 15th, includes three freezers, inventory, and office furnishings according to the listing. Aside from the freezers, most items are still available for less than a dollar as of Monday morning.
Jenny Craig was founded in 1983 to help people lose weight, and the brand became a household name for its weight loss program and celebrities endorsing it. The program provided special menus designed by chefs and nutritionists to help consumers lose weight and was promoted by celebrities such as including actors Kirstie Alley, Jason Alexander, Mariah Carey, and Valerie Bertinelli.
The brand announced that it would be transitioning to an online-only operation, but a later announcement earlier this year made it seem like it would be shutting down completely. A message that read “It’s with a heavy heart, we’re announcing the close of our business,” was found on the Jenny Craig website. “The last 40 years would not have been possible without you.” The message was the only thing on the website at the time, but has since been replaced with a new website that offers a Jenny Craig subscription with various products again.
