MCPD Special Operations Division To Conduct Training in Crown/Rio Area on Monday, Nov. 20

According to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD): The MCPD Special Operations Division will be conducting Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) training in & around the Downtown Crown/Rio area of Gaithersburg at various times on 11/20/2023. Residents & community members may observe a drone, however there is no reason for alarm.

MCPD has recently been speaking with residents about their proposal to use drone technology as first responders to enhance public safety and decrease police response times. Earlier this year The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) held presentations in English and Spanish, followed by an open question and answer period regarding the use of drone technology.
