Per the original release published on November 19): Detectives from our Major Crimes Bureau have obtained warrants for an Annandale man for last night’s fatal shooting. Hiep Van Vo, 43, is wanted for Second Degree Murder, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
At 12:42 a.m. today, officers responded to a shooting at the Falls Church Marriott Fairview Park hotel in the 3100 block of Fairview Park Drive in Merrifield. Officers found Charles Anthony Ashe Jr., 44, of Maryland near the elevators suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body. Fairfax County Fire and Rescue was on scene at the hotel on an unrelated call and was able to quickly respond. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
Preliminary, detectives determined Ashe and Vo were known to each other. Ashe entered the room Vo was occupying with four other individuals. Inside the room, Vo shot Ashe. No one else was injured. Ashe was able to exit the hotel room and was carried by friends, who heard the gunshots, to the elevator. Vo fled from the hotel. Detectives do not believe the shooting was a random act. Evidence of narcotics was discovered inside the hotel room.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to Vo’s whereabouts to call the non-emergency number at 703-691-2131.
