MCPD: Lost Knife Murder Suspects Arrested


Per MCPD:
“Two suspects, wanted in connection with a November 10 homicide have been arrested and charged with murder.

Kenes Yair Guevara and Osman Antonio Maldonado were arrested on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, for their alleged involvement in the shooting death of 22-year-old Alan Garnica of Gaithersburg.

The shooting occurred in the 18400 block of Lost Knife Circle, where Garnica and a second victim were shot. Garnica was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

Through the course of the investigation, 19-year-old Guevara and 20-year-old Maldonado were identified as suspects. Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division homicide detectives arrested Maldonado and charged him with first-degree murder. Guevara, of Gaithersburg, was apprehended later in the day and charged with first-degree murder. Both are being held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where they are awaiting bond hearings.
