MCFRS Respond to Apartment Fire Wednesday Morning

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a 2nd alarm fire in the 1700blk East West Highway in Silver Spring around 11:30am on Wednesday, December 6.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the fire originated on the third floor of the Summit Hills Apartments complex. The fire has been extinguished and the occupant of the apartment where the fire was located is being evaluated by EMS. Several families will likely be displaced. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. We will provide an update if additional information becomes available.
