Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a call in the area of Russell Ave and Montgomery Village Ave, near the now-closed Lakeforest Mall, for a collision and “inland water rescue” after the vehicle was driven into the pond at the intersection.
According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, one adult was assisted out of the vehicle for non-life threatening injuries. As of now, there is no word on how or why the vehicle ended up in the pond, but rainy weather could have played a role in the crash.
