18-Year-Old Clarksburg Man Arrested for Germantown Shooting

18-year-old Raymond Leon McRoy, of Clarksburg, has been arrested and charged with a shooting that occurred in Germantown, on Thursday, December 14, 2023.

According to police, “At approximately 9:30 a.m., 5th District officers responded to the 19500 block of Waters Rd. for the report of a shooting that just occurred. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 5th District Investigative Section identified McRoy as the suspect. On Monday, December 18, 2023, McRoy was arrested on the strength of an arrest warrant, where he was charged with attempted first-degree murder, assault and firearms related charges. He was transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is currently being held without bond.
