Per MCPD: “Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – Major Crimes Division have arrested and charged two 19-year-old males, Keshawn Forbes and Oghenetega Ogbotor, with the armed robbery of the 7-Eleven store that occurred on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at approximately 11:56 p.m., in the 12200 block of Tech Road.

On Friday, December 22, at approximately 12:05 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to the location for the report of an armed robbery.

The investigation has revealed that Forbes and Ogbotor entered the store and attempted to make a purchase. Ogbotor pulled out a knife and approached the employee who was working behind the counter, while Forbes was displaying a handgun. Ogbotor and Forbes then removed an undisclosed amount of money from the cash registers and left the scene on foot. The employee contacted 911 and provided a description of Forbes and Ogbotor.

Responding officers located two individuals, later identified as Ogbotor and Forbes, who matched the description of the suspects in the 2200 block of Broadbirch Drive. Upon seeing the officers, Ogbotor and Forbes ran away.

Officers located Forbes in the 2301 block of Broadbirch Drive and recovered a 9mm handgun in his possession.

With the assistance of K-9 units and the Maryland State Police helicopter, officers apprehended Ogbotor who was hiding in the wooded area of the 2200 block of Broadbirch Drive.

Detectives also reviewed the surveillance footage of the 7-Eleven store, which shows Forbes and Ogbotor committing the armed robbery.

Forbes and Ogbotor, both of Prince George’s County, were taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit. Ogbotor was charged with armed robbery and Forbes was charged with armed robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence. They are being held without bond.”
