Back in August we let you know that the Container Store, which currently has one Montgomery County location at 1601 Rockville Pike in Congressional Plaza, will be opening a second Montgomery County location in Gaithersburg.
Initially aiming for a “Winter 2023” opening, it appears an early to mid 2024 opening is more likely for the store with construction ongoing on the interior of the store and part of the sidewalk outside (progress photo below). It will be located in Downtown Crown, next to Woodhouse Day Spa and across from the recently closed Old Town Pour House Space.
The retailer specializes in storage, home office organizers and organization supplies, including custom closets and shelving systems. It provides an experience-driven shopping destination with more than 11,000 organizational products offered.
The Rockville location is approximately 24,000 SF and the small format stores, that the company announced it will be opening, tend to be approximately 15,000 SF- closer to the size of the upcoming Gaithersburg location.
