The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) issued the following statement after a Ride On bus crashed into a house on Wednesday, December 27:

“Wednesday evening at approximately 7:11 p.m., an out of service Montgomery County Ride On bus veered off the road and ran into a house off Fairland Road.  The bus had no customers onboard, and there no injuries were reported. MCPD, MCFRS and Montgomery County Transit personnel were one the scene and are investigating the crash.”

At this time, it’s unclear why the crash occurred, but the bus involved is the same bus that crashed into a KFC restaurant more than 10 years ago. We will provide an update if additional information becomes available.
