Early Tuesday Model Runs Decrease Snow Chances This Weekend

The early model runs on Tuesday have pushed higher snow totals further north, leaving much of the DC Metro area close to the rain/snow line with a mix and cold rain looking more likely than snow at the moment.

While the same disclaimers still apply (we are five days out from this potential storm), today’s trend has not been in the favor of snow lovers. The main reason we didn’t share any snow total maps from 5+ days out is because of how quickly and often things can change… and they have.

What looked like 6+ inches of snow for much of the area now looks like more of a mix to rain. Does that mean the storm is gone? Not exactly. Being this far out, things can still change in either direction. That means it can jog back south and our potential snow totals can increase again, it can stay where it’s at with a mix/rain involved, or it can move even further north and we can get more/all rain.

This still looks like a Saturday afternoon into very early Sunday type of thing. We’ll continue to keep an eye on things and let you know of any potential shifts as we move closer to the weekend.
