TGI Friday’s Announces Closures of 36 Restaurants, Including Six In/Around DMV

TGI Fridays announced that it will close 36 underperforming locations in select markets across the U.S., which includes six stores in/around the DMV area. The chain also sold eight corporate-owned restaurants in the Northeast (in MA and NH) to former CEO Ray Blanchette.

The restaurants closing in/around the DMV can be seen below:

Maryland:

Columbia, MD: 8330 Benson Dr, Columbia, MD 21045

Bowie, MD: 15207 Major Lansdale Blvd, Bowie, MD 20716

Virginia:

Springfield, VA: 6751-B Frontier Dr, Springfield, VA 22150

Manassas, VA: 7401 Sudley Rd, Manassas, VA 20109

Fredericksburg, VA: 1160 Carl D Silver Pkwy, Fredericksburg, VA 22401

Woodbridge/Potomac Mills, VA: 13237 Worth Ave, Woodbridge, VA 22192

The two Montgomery County locations in Rockville and White Oak/Fairland will remain open, as they were not mentioned in the press release and continue to operate normally. As part of the store closures, TGI Fridays is offering more than 1,000 transfer opportunities, which represents over 80% of total impacted employees.
