Clarksburg Featured in an Episode of NCIS; Plus a Bonus MoCo Connection

Clarksburg resident Michael H. Kim recently posted a scene from the popular television series NCIS that briefly featured Clarksburg on the show. There’s an additional fun MoCo connection on the show too.

In season 7, episode 3, titled The Inside Man, a critic of NCIS has severely complained about an alleged cover-up of the death of a naval officer. The griper falls to his death and both the NCIS and Metro Police Department investigate. During the episode, the owner of a sandwich shop is named Will Sutton. His driver’s license is briefly flashed on the screen (photo below) and reveals that he lives at 632 Foxglove St. in Clarksburg, MD. The address does not exist, but there is a Foxglove Lane. near the Kemp Mill area of Silver Spring.

Sean Murray who has been on NCIS for twenty years, first as a recurring character for season 1 and then as a regular cast member for the last 19 seasons, was born at Bethesda Naval Hospital in 1977. This is interesting for two reasons- Bethesda is, of course, in Montgomery County, and NCIS stands for “Naval Criminal Investigative Service.” While Murray was born in Bethesda, he didn’t stick around too long as he grew up in military bases across the world.
