MCPS & DHHS to Hold Screening/Discussion of “Silent War: Asian American Reckonings with Mental Health” at Wootton High School

On Jan. 23, at 5:30pm, Montgomery County Public Schools in partnership with Asian American Health Initiative, Montgomery County Government (DHHS) will have a brief movie screening of the film, Silent Wars, followed by reflection from one of the individuals in the film, and a moderated panel discussion at Wootton High School.

Silent War: Asian American Reckoning with Mental Health is a full-feature documentary profiling multiple members of our community stepping up to share their own battles with mental illness.

Community resource tables will be available for students, parents, and community members. The event is a part of the county’s effort to bring awareness to the stigma of mental health in the Asian American community and provide resources.  SSL hours will be provided.
