The Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 7am Tuesday for just about all of the area, with approximately half an inch to an inch and a half of snow already on the ground from earlier this morning.
More snow is coming our way later today with an additional 1-3 inches expected from this evening until tomorrow. The heaviest accumulations are expected from late this evening until tomorrow morning. With the cold temps in place, any snow that falls will likely stick and make things messy pretty quickly.
Chuck Bell of NBC4 has stated on his Facebook page that he expects a “90% chance that at least 90% of the local school districts will be closed tomorrow.” The official MoCoSnow Pencil Prediction is a little lower than this, but the temperatures and the timing of the snow make closures a very real possibility.
We’ll continue to monitor and let you know if any updates to the forecast and to our prediction.
