Since the Potomac version of Real Housewives premiered, the stars of the show have been spotted filming at various places across the county, but in last night’s episode they visited a locally owned and operated self-defense gym in Poolesville.

In episode 9 of season 8 (approximately 17 minutes in) the ladies visit Poolesville Self Defense/Talon Jiujitsu, which is owned and operated by MoCo native Ray Castro and his business partner Mark Munster whom he met while training at the Evolve Academy in Gaithersburg.

Castro was born and raised in Montgomery County, Maryland. After graduating from Boston College in 1998, he began a long career in the tax/accounting profession. Around this time he also discovered his passion for martial arts and fitness. He eventually left accounting opened Poolesville Self Defense/Talon Jiujitsu as well as his personal training business, RPC Fitness.

“It was a cool experience, but I had no idea it was airing last night until I found out this morning” Castro said of the portion of the RHOP episode filmed in his gym. The show is available on Peacock and Bravo and often features very recognizable MoCo landmarks and businesses.
