MegaMart to Expand Newly Opened Gaithersburg Store

MegaMart opened its new location at 33 Dalamar St. in Gaithersburg last September, and now the grocery store already has plans to expand.

According to a Maryland Newsletters report, MegaMart has bought an adjacent and vacant 17,000 square foot parcel at the corner of N. Frederick Avenue and Dalamar Street in the City, for $950,000. MegaMart exited its previous location across the street at 401 N Frederick Ave in the Hudson Trail Center a couple weeks after the new location opened. The Mega Bakery that was located in the shopping center also closed and relocated to the new site.

Megamart is a regional grocery chain specializing in Latin items with about a dozen locations in the DMV. Some Megamart stores have additional services, such as gold sales, mobile phone repair, and sporting goods.  One major change for the new Gaithersburg store is that it has its own dedicated parking lot to accommodate additional vehicles.
