Washingtonian Magazine has released its list of the “100 Very Best Restaurants in Washington, DC” with a pizzeria that will soon be opening its first Maryland location in Bethesda making the list.

AP Pizza Shop will be opening its first Maryland location at 4747 Bethesda Ave. in Maryland along with sister-restaurant Aventino on January 31.

The restaurants are being opened by MoCo resident Chef Mike Friedman (Olney), Colin McDonough, Gareth Croke, and Mike O’Malley, the team behind DC restaurants All-Purpose Pizzeria, The Red Hen, and Boundary Stone Public House.

AP Pizza Shop will be the Bethesda outpost of Friedman’s All-Purpose Pizzeria, which currently has two D.C. locations. AP Pizza Shop will offer “Jersey-style, deck-oven pies”, Italian coffee/pastries in the morning, and paninis, salads, and slicer for lunch, and a wider variety of pizzas available for dinner.
