Hook & Reel Wheaton to Add Kinya Ramen

Hook & Reel at 11006 Veirs Mill Rd L 10 in Wheaton will soon be adding the Kinya Ramen concept to its restaurant.

Beginning February 15, guests at Hook & Reel will be able to order off of the Kinya menu, which features ten styles of ramen, bowls, salads, and appetizers such as edamame, wings, buns, and octopus balls, as well as items from the regular Hook & Reel menu, which consists of seafood boils, oysters, fried fish, and cocktails.

The first Hook & Reel Restaurant was opened in Lanham, Maryland in 2013. The chain has an additional Montgomery County location at 9643 Lost Knife Rd in Gaithersburg. We’re told that location will not be offering the new menu.

About Kinya: “Here at Kinya we are the home of the Golden Ramen! We pride ourselves on the meaning of our name, GOLD! Gold is fine, pure, and unmatched to any other metal. That is the experience we are giving the customers every-time they eat here at Kinya. We love our authentic Japanese foods and flavors with fun twists.

If you notice we have a Daruma Character that represents our restaurant. It is a recognizable symbol of perseverance and good luck in Japanese culture. The one eyed Kinya Daruma mascot is a visual representation of our continuing quest to provide high quality food and service for our guests. His determined expression and bold look make the Kinya Daruma recognizable and memorable.

The design of the Daruma combines elements of the Kinya logo and of our brand icons to create a cohesive look between our marks. Wavy lines on his body reference our signature ramen “golden noodles” and his base matches the bottom of a ramen bowl.”
