More Snow Possible This Week

The National Weather Service (NWS) has released its maps for another storm that is headed our way later this week. This one is coming after work/school on Friday and into Saturday morning, so it doesn’t look like there will be any impacts on schools Friday.

Both the GFS (American weather model) and the Euro (European weather model) are currently showing snow in the area later Friday into Saturday. Right now, it looks like a lighter event of 1-3 inches, with the GFS actually showing more snow for areas south of us like southern Prince George’s County and Manassas, VA.

The “Reasonable Worst Case Scenario” map by the NWS shows 3-4 inches for areas like DC, Montgomery, Loudoun, Howard, and Frederick counties. The “low end amount” shows no snow for almost the entire area. We’ll continue to monitor as we approach our second storm of the week.
